Simplicity and ease of buying are cornerstones of Tailor Made Genetics. As a young college student at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Brad Fahrmeier possessed a rare combination of being raised in beef cattle production plus an aptitude for computers and technology.
Upon graduation and with the encouragement of industry influencers, Brad developed and launched LiveAuctions.tv. LiveAuctions.tv has been a major force in the paradigm shift in how seedstock cattle are marketed today. “Pushing the envelope” is an understatement. Almost two decades ago, Brad’s vision and computer programming skills helped forge the internet broadcasting and bidding platform used by seedstock, commercial producers and livestock auction markets today.
Through travels for LiveAuctions.tv, Fahrmeier has had the opportunity to observe and evaluate beef cattle production and management from a unique perspective. The next generation of Tailor Made Genetics (TMG) is the evolution of a registered seedstock and commercial Angus operation, owned and managed by Fahrmeier and Lacey Robinson.
Innovation is still key today. Matings are made using the latest selection tools and technology, resulting in the most accurate genetic progress possible. Sire selection for the total AI and ET program is based on selection pressures for calving ease, rapid growth, docility and end product merit. The herd will continue to expand through strict heifer retention and culling.
TMG at Olsburg, Kansas, is a growing 100+ Angus operation. Olsburg was established in 1880 and folks are proud of their rich Swedish heritage. Brad and Lacey extend a hearty “Välkommen till vår stad” (Swedish for “Welcome to Our City”) to visitors. Olsburg is located along Kansas Highway 16 in west central Pottawatomie County, Kansas, and a short 20 miles north of Manhattan and Kansas State University. Tuttle Creek Reservoir borders TMG property and the area is known for superior hunting and fishing.
